Carriers and drivers

For carriers, owner-operators and drivers

We are a carrier-first company. Whether you run your own authority, own one truck or drive for a living, LFS has services that help keep your trucking business running, and a network of trucking companies you can be part of.

What carrier-first means here

Everything LFS does comes back to one question: does this help keep the small trucking company alive? Solvent, compliant, earning and not alone. If something helps someone profit at the carrier's expense, we don't do it.

For a carrier, that comes down to plain things. What we charge is in writing before we start. Dispatch is 8% of each load's gross, and the person dispatching your truck works for your business. If a broker doesn't pay you, we help you file a complaint and follow up at no charge.

As The Art of the Deal with 10 Wheels puts it: "One truck is a straight line. A business built right turns in circles." Freight research leads to the right load, clean paperwork leads to getting paid, and getting paid keeps the truck running for the next load.

Three more ways to work with LFS

Join the LFS network

Your trucking company keeps its own authority and runs under LFS management and compliance oversight.

Owner-operators

You own your truck. Use LFS dispatch, compliance and back office, or talk with us about the network.

CDL-A driver jobs

LFS recruits and screens CDL-A drivers for the trucking companies in the LFS network.

Getting paid is part of the load

A load isn't finished when it delivers. It's finished when the money is in your account. That takes a signed rate confirmation, a clean bill of lading, a signed proof of delivery and any lumper or detention receipts, all sent in promptly. Missing paperwork is the most common reason carriers wait on money.

If you use LFS dispatch or back office, getting that paperwork in and the invoice out is part of the work. Our articles on why delivered isn't done until it funds and working with a factoring company go further.

If a broker hasn't paid you, impersonated your company or double brokered your load, file a free complaint at FreightBrokerComplaint.com. We look into it and contact the broker on your behalf at no charge. How it works.

  • Rate confirmation signed before pickup
  • BOL and POD sent in after delivery
  • Free complaint help when a broker doesn't pay

Have this ready when you contact us

  • Your company name, USDOT number and MC number, if you have them
  • How many trucks you run and the equipment: dry van, reefer or power only
  • Your current insurance and when it renews
  • What you need help with: dispatch, compliance, back office, or joining the network

Carriers with education behind them

Every company in the LFS network has education behind it. Students, interns and academics from Freight University apply what they learn to help carriers grow: freight research, compliance and the back office. No one goes to school to fail, so the team behind you is working for you to succeed. How we work.

  • Freight research for your lanes
  • Compliance kept current
  • Transparency on everything

Questions and answers

Does LFS have freight for me to haul?

LFS is a service company, not a freight brokerage, so we don't offer loads as a broker. Our dispatch service researches and books freight for your truck, under your own authority, for 8% of each load's gross.

Do you work with new authorities?

Yes. A new authority is not a reason by itself to turn a carrier away. If you're still building your company, LFS also helps people start a trucking company.

What equipment do you work with?

53-foot dry vans, refrigerated trailers and power only: 80,000-pound CDL freight. We don't work with flatbed or non-CDL hotshot.

Is the broker complaint service really free?

Yes. Filing at FreightBrokerComplaint.com costs nothing. We review the complaint and contact the broker on your behalf. Allegations stay allegations until they are resolved.
