Enclosed Car Transport

Enclosed car transport means the car rides inside a hard-sided trailer. LFS uses that trailer, a liftgate when the car is low, and soft straps instead of chains.

We are a carrier-first company.

Enclosed, Open, and Why the Difference Matters

An open trailer leaves the car in the weather and in road grit. That is a common way to move an everyday car. A hard-sided enclosed trailer closes the car in. Paint, fresh work and soft tops stay out of the rain and off the highway spray.

Low cars are the other reason. A steep ramp can catch a splitter or an exhaust. A hydraulic liftgate lets the crew bring the car on level. Soft wheel nets and straps hold the tires.

The pickup in front is often an F-450-class truck with an LFS mark on the door. A larger trailer is used when the car or the route calls for it. For the collector-car page, see exotic car transport.

What to Tell Us About the Car

  1. Height and Clearance

How low the car sits, and whether a splitter, skirt or exhaust needs the liftgate.

  2. Condition

Fresh paint, a recent repair, or a car that should not be driven far on its own.

  3. Running or Not

A car that rolls can be loaded under its own power. A car that does not still needs a plan. Tell us which.

  4. Where It Ends

A garage, a detail shop, or the next house. We need the delivery approach, not only the city.

Questions about enclosed car transport

Is enclosed the same as a semi car carrier?

Not on these moves. The usual setup is a single-car hard-sided trailer behind a pickup. A larger trailer is for the move that needs it.

What if the car does not run?

Tell us. A non-running car still needs a loading plan. We will say whether we can take it before we schedule the day.

How is the car covered?

Appropriate cargo coverage for that move, plus a condition report with photos at pickup and delivery. We talk through what applies to that car before we roll.
