More than dispatch: logistics support for your trucking company

Our dispatch service is 8% of the gross of each load, and it is more than dispatch. Freight research, load booking, broker setup, compliance support, TMS access and back-office help, done by a trained Professional Logistics Service Provider.

Why more than dispatch

A lot of dispatch stops at booking a load and sending the rate confirmation. That is one step. A small trucking company needs the steps before and after it working too: knowing where the freight is, knowing who you are hauling for, getting paid, and staying ready to book the next load.

We are a carrier-first company. Our dispatch service is built to keep your trucking company alive and earning, not just to keep the truck moving this week.

LFS builds and manages trucking companies and brokerages in the LFS network, each under its own authority, and dispatch works the same way. The loads are your company's loads, booked under your own authority.

What the 8% covers

  • Freight research and lane planning: where your freight is, who ships it, and how the truck gets back loaded
  • Load booking and rate review: loads that fit your lanes and your numbers, booked in your company's name, with every rate confirmation checked and shared with you
  • Broker vetting and setup paperwork: we check who you are hauling for and handle the carrier setup packets
  • Compliance support: help keeping the items brokers check current, so you stay bookable
  • TMS access: you see your loads and paperwork in our transportation management system
  • Back-office support: billing paperwork for each load
  • Business development: building repeat lanes and relationships so you depend less on the load board

How a load moves with us

Every load feeds the next one.

  1. Research the laneWe know where the freight is and what the round trip pays before the truck rolls.
  2. Book the right loadWe book and review the rate, and you see the load in the TMS.
  3. Run the loadPaperwork is in order and the broker has been checked.
  4. Bill the loadBilling paperwork goes out with the right documents.
  5. Plan the next oneWhat we learned on this load makes the next booking better.

…and what we learn goes back into step one.

Dispatch with education behind it

Our dispatchers are trained through Freight University, and behind them is a team of students learning freight research and applying it to your lanes: searching, researching and finding freight for your truck.

Loads are booked in your company's name and every rate confirmation is shown to you. Transparency is everything. How we work.

  • Freight research behind every load
  • Dispatchers trained through Freight University
  • Every rate confirmation shared with you

Who does the work

Your dispatch work is done by a Professional Logistics Service Provider (PLSP) trained through Freight University, the education arm of LFS. Freight University stands behind that training.

A PLSP is trained to think about the whole trucking company: research, rates, brokers, compliance and cash flow, not just the next load.

  • 53-foot dry van, reefer and power only

Research comes before the load

The best dispatch starts with knowing your freight. Read why we say your trucking company needs a freight researcher, not just a dispatcher.

Questions and answers

How much does your dispatch service cost?

8% of the gross of each load.

Whose authority are the loads booked under?

Yours. Dispatch is for your own trucking company's loads, booked under your own USDOT and MC numbers. LFS is a service company, not a freight brokerage, so the loads belong to your company, not to us.

What equipment do you dispatch?

53-foot dry van, refrigerated (reefer) and power only. We do not dispatch flatbed.

Who will be working my truck?

A Professional Logistics Service Provider (PLSP) trained through Freight University.

Do I decide which loads my truck takes?

Yes. It is your trucking company. We bring you the loads and the numbers, and you make the call.
